Pelican Bay: A Grand Choice for Small Meetings

Meeting Planners know that choosing the right meeting venue is a big factor in the ultimate success of an event. At Covington Meetings & Events, we visit and inspect dozens of properties each year so we can help you make good choices. Last week, I inspected the Pelican Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island and was impressed with what I saw.
Pelican Bay is a winner for small groups (under 150 participants). Located in the Lucaya area just 10 minutes from the Grand Bahama International Airport, it is one of the islands newest boutique hotels. The colorful exterior is welcoming and the views overlooking the Bell Channel Bay are peaceful. The European architecture, Italian tiled floors and unique lighting throughout present an elegant, yet comfortable ambiance.
All Guest Rooms and the larger State Rooms are waterside with private balconies or patios. The décor is chic and luxurious. Amenities include plush cotton bath robes and high speed wireless internet access.
The meeting facilities have state-of-the-art technology built into well-designed spaces. Six meeting rooms suitable for 40 to 150 participants have exterior views on at least one side, electronic window shades, high-tech audio/video and stylish retractable walls to set the scene for your dinner, reception or meeting. Outside each room is a hot and cold drink center for refreshment breaks. Pelican Bay offers attractively priced overnight, full day or half day meeting packages that include meeting rooms, chilled bottled water, morning and afternoon snacks with coffee and tea, free unlimited wireless internet connection and a lunch buffet in the Captain’s Galley.
The Lucaya area has plenty of recreation and attractions for free time. The resort is steps away from Lucaya Beach, across the street from Treasure Bay Casino and adjacent to the Port Lucaya Marketplace with dozens of restaurants, bars and shops. There are two professionally designed golf courses nearby and the UNEXCO Dolphin Experience and Diving Excursions are next to the resort.
Grand Bahama Island is now just two short hours travel time from Richmond with the new Vision Air direct flight service on Mondays and Fridays. The flights are very economical and with Pelican Bay's cash back booking incentive program even groups on a limited budget will find this venue a great value.
