Visa Alert:
Argentina Requires Electronic Advance Payment
Starting Dec. 28, 2012, the Argentine National Immigration Directorate (DNM) began requiring business and tourist visitors from the United States, Canada and Australia to provide advanced payment of the reciprocity fee or visitor’s visa through the Provincia Payment System or by visiting www.migraciones.gov.ar. Failure to present a printed copy of the reciprocity fee results in the denial of boarding.
Previously, the $160 fee could be paid at the airport upon arrival in Argentina. Now, in order to enter Argentina, the payment for the reciprocity fee must be done on-line before the flight and a copy of the receipt must be printed and kept at hand. The receipt will be verified by airline staff prior to boarding and validated upon arrival by DNM staff.
