Celebrity Cruises shore excursions offer a collection of unique and in-depth destination experiences that are designed to engage the traveler in fun and interesting ways. Tours give guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the local culture and learn about their destination.

Advantages of Celebrity Cruises Shore Excursions

When you choose to purchase Celebrity Cruises shore excursions, there are several advantages over setting out on your own. First, guests with Celebrity Cruises shore excursions enjoy priority disembarking – they are guaranteed first off the ship, so there is more time for fun in port. Even more importantly, they are guaranteed a return to the ship, meaning the ship will wait if the tour is delayed. In extreme delay situations where the ship must leave without the tour participants, Celebrity will make arrangements for guests to return to the ship at no expense to the guest. This is a significant benefit, as anyone who has ever had to find and pay for transportation to the next port of call can attest!

Celebrity Cruises shore excursions are designed to discover the heart of the destination with knowledgeable and experienced guides. The tours are planned and executed with in-depth destination expertise that will enhance the guest’s understanding of and engagement with the local people and culture – and isn’t that really what travel is all about?

Lastly, Celebrity Cruises shore excursions offer flexibility in planning. Most tours can be modified or cancelled up to 24 hours prior to the tour departure without penalty. There are exceptions that require a 30-day advance cancellation – tours that include flight, trains, hotels, special events or customized arrangements.

Celebrity Cruises shore excursions fall into three major categories, each with multiple sub-groups within, so there’s a tour for every style and interest.

Authentic and Immersive Celebrity Excursions

These one-of-a-kind experiences have been created in partnership with local experts so guests can learn about their destination in the most authentic ways. Excursions include premium, fully-customizable tours and exciting family adventures that embody Celebrity’s spirit of modern luxury.

• Celebrity Exclusives are intimate and premium experiences such as a Fashion Forward day in Barcelona discovering haute couture, Gaudi, and typical Spanish cuisine.
• Signature Event Sailings give guests seats at iconic global events like the Edinburgh Military Tattoo or the Rio Carnival Samba Parade.
• Private Journeys offer flexibility at its finest because they are completely customizable to ensure an ideal destination experience.
• Family Tour Challenge set families up for exciting competition and teamwork with activities like geocaching in Alaska, a mini sailing regatta in Bermuda or an Amazing Race in Cozumel.

Culture & Locale

Celebrity guests get to engage with the local culture as they peek behind the curtain of authentic scenes and use all their senses to explore the sights, sounds and tastes of the destination.

• Multi-Day Adventures give guests more time to enjoy the destination with extended single- and multi-day tours and overnight stays, both on land and onboard.
• Cultural Connections allow guests to experience a destination through the eyes of a local with excursions such as a visit to the amber restoration workshops of Catherine Palace in St. Petersburg.
• Destination Highlights are the “must-see” sites like the Great Wall of China and Skagway’s Scenic Railway that seasoned travelers and first-timers don’t want to miss.
• World Flavors introduce guests to the traditional flavors and authentic cuisine of each destination through tapas hopping in Spain, vodka tasting in Russia, cooking lessons in France or a chef–led market outing.
• Evenings Around the World are excursions that showcase the distinctive characteristics of a destination that are best experienced after the sun sets. Options include a unique Balinese dance performance, a Portuguese Fado show, and an evening cruise on a replica 16th-century pirate ship in Dubrovnik.

Lifestyle & Wellness

Travelers’ lifestyle preferences increasingly include fitness and wellness activities. Celebrity Cruises designed a category of shore excursions that promote wellness, inspire creativity and encourage rejuvenation.

• Wellness Rituals nurture body, mind, and soul with excursions that promote finding a tech-life balance and “power up while you power down” in the Take Care of YourSelfie series.
• Leisurely Morning Journeys are late morning excursions for those who like to sleep in and take their time. Afternoon high tea in Oman or an afternoon climb of the Sidney Harbour Bridge are examples.
• Active Adventures are for the thrill-seeking adventurer with opportunities like dog sledding, zip lining and snorkeling.
